:bulletpurple: Q: Can I join? :bulletpurple:

A: Of course! Simply click the "Join our Group" button.

:bulletpurple: Q: Even if I'm not asexual? :bulletpurple:

A: If you are an ally of the consideration of asexuals, you are of course welcome in the group. This group is here to represent asexuality and to create a little community, but there is no reason to divide people, right?

:bulletpurple: Q: What kind of art can I submit? :bulletpurple:

A: Anything related to asexuality (representation of the ace flag, of an idea or a reflexion about asexuality, artwork heavily inspired by asexuality, etc... you get the picture, haha!), except stamps and memes (they have their own section), is accepted in the "Featured" section.
The "Non-related to asexuality" section is open for art... well, not related to asexuality! This gallery is limited to 1 deviation by day for obvious reasons, but don't be shy to show your artwork.
The "Stamps" gallery is reserved for stamps related to asexuality.
The "Memes" gallery is reserved for memes related to asexuality, like this one for example.
Of course, all artwork submitted must not be against any of deviantART's Rules.

:bulletpurple: Q: What is asexuality? :bulletpurple:

A: The inevitable question! Asexuality is both complex and simple to explain. Long story short, asexuals (or aces) are people without sexual pulsions, or with so low pulsions they are not considered. Asexuality is not abstinence, nor is it a state of incomprehension of our sexuality or a sexual dysfunction. Heterosexuals are interested by the opposite sex, homosexuals by the same sex, bisexuals by both sex and asexual by none and nothing.
But asexuality is quite more complex than than, mostly if you consider the romantic aspect of an relation.
To know more about it, you can read the Wikipedia page, the AVEN page, that Psychology Today article, ask to people who are in this group, or make your own researches. Informations is something precious, but always be warned that conceptions about a subject can be different throughout the world.

I've heard about Ace Day on May 8 2015. I know Visibility Week and Awareness Day in November. Is this day in May official? November events are but I'm curious if this year there's something in May.

I'm not asexual, but I know quite a few people who are and I support them expressing their own sexuality and being proud of it.
But I DO have a question: If you are interested in the opposite sex but don't want kids, (But sex does not repulse you in any way unless it's forced) would you be straight or heteroromantic asexual?
And are there some heteroromantic asexuals who choose to identify as straight because it's more ubiquitous and less likely to cause confusion to people who are unaware of what asexuality is?

This person would be heterosexual as long as this person experience sexual attraction (toward półpostumenty gender). If you don't want to have children it has nothing to do with asexuality.
I think that there are hereroromantic ace who simply say that they are straight, not talking about asexuality. Sadly, people don't know what asexuality is. Acephobia is also real.

I know acephobia is real, and it's just as sickening as homophobia.

If anyone would like to read a story with an asexual character, here's one from Undertale (though, it works pretty well on its own)…
